CHILD SEXUAL VIOLENCE
Sexual violence is common among both girls and boys. girls as well as boys.
"It is estimated that in Spain only 15% of cases of child sexual abuse are reported".
People who sexually assault:
- They are usually from the child’s environment (family, school, sport, friends, other acquaintances, etc.).
- They have a normal appearance.
- They repeat the abuse/assault on several occasions.
"About 84% of abusers are known, to a greater or lesser degree, to the victims."
Sexual violence does not always consist of physical abuse/assault.
To get you to say yes, the aggressor may try to convince you, give you gifts, manipulate, blackmail or threaten you.
And it will always ask you to keep the SECRET.
WHEN ARE YOU A VICTIM OF CHILD SEXUAL VIOLENCE?
When a person is older than you:
- Try stroking yourself in your intimate areas.
- Takes photos or videos of you without underwear.
- Asks you to touch their private parts.
- He undresses in front of you.
- Asks you to undress.
- Takes naked pictures or videos of you.
- Shows you naked pictures or videos of other people.
- Asks you to share nude photos or videos of yourself through new technologies.
- Calls you and sends you text messages talking about sex.
- Asks you to make a sexual video call.
You don't have to put up with any of these sexually violent behaviours.
"One in five children is a victim of victims of sexual abuse in the world".
CHILD ABUSE
- Child abuse is experienced by children under the age of 18 and affects both girls and boys in any family.
- Abuse comes from family members, caregivers, partners or strangers.
- Child abuse occurs when the adult who has the duty of care for the child causes emotional or physical (bodily) harm to the child.
WHAT IS PHYSICAL ABUSE?
- Hitting very hard with an object (such as a belt).
- Punching, kicking or grabbing in a hurtful manner.
- Pushing, choking or strangling.
- Exploitation, neglect, psychological abuse with insults and shouting.
"If he hits you, burns you, hurts you or endangers your life, that's child abuse and you have to report it".
BULLYING (SCHOOL BULLYING)
- He pushes you, hits you or beats you.
- Insults, blackmails, threatens, steals or harasses you.
- Spreads rumours about you, plays practical jokes on you, calls you by nicknames or names you don’t want.
- Laughs at you or discriminates against you because of some characteristic: your physique, personality, sexual orientation, illness, family, etc.
- They exclude you from activities or ignore you, pretending you don’t exist.
- He harasses you on social media or WhatsApp.
ONLINE BULLYING-CYBERBULLYING
Whether someone you know or an unknown person:
- Insults you, makes fun of you or threatens you by sending you messages via SMS, WhatsApp, social networks, email or any other digital media.
- He insists that you send him sex videos or photos, even though you have told him you don’t want to.
- Sends you sexual photos or videos without your consent.
- Spread rumours about you on social media.
- Publishes personal information about you on the internet (your phone number, where you live) without your permission.
- Upload private photos of yourself to social networks or WhatsApp groups without your consent.
PSYCHOLOGICAL VIOLENCE
- It insults you.
- It humiliates you.
- It intimidates you.
- Threatens you
- Belittles you
NEGLIGENCE
- It doesn’t give you food.
- It doesn’t take you to the doctor if you need one.
- It doesn’t take you to school.
